REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR GIFSHIP

Here is what you need to know to sign up for the Public Sector Social Health Insurance Programme:

Individual & Family Registration:

  1. 1. Physical Presence or Forms Submission: Visit the NHIA office in person or submit filled NHIA GIFSHIP enrolment forms with all requirements.
  2. 2. Accommodation: Individuals can enrol two persons, while families can enrol between four and nine persons (blood-related or within the same household).
  3. 3. Payment: Individuals pay Forty-Five Thousand (22,000) naira annually, and families pay Sixty Thousand (66,000) to a maximum of One Hundred and Thirty-Five Thousand (198,000) naira annually via the REMITA platform.
  4. 4. NHIA ID Card Payment: Enrolees pay One Thousand Five Hundred (1,500) naira for the NHIA ID card.
  5. 5. National Identification Number (NIN): Each enrolee must provide their NIN.
  6. 6. Choice Rights: Enrolees can choose their Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and Health Care Provider (HCP).

Group Registration (Online):

  1. 1. Form Collection: Visit an NHIA office to collect GIFSHIP enrolment forms for all group members.
  2. 2. Online Enrolment: Enrol and pay instantly online via the REMITA platform or at the bank within 24 hours of registration using the Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) generated.
  3. 3. Payment: The minimum payment for a group is One Hundred and Fifty Thousand (220,000) naira for a 10-person package annually, with subsequent additions attracting Fifteen Thousand (22,000) naira per person.
  4. 4. NHIA ID Card Payment: Enrolees pay One Thousand Five Hundred (1,500) naira for the NHIA ID card.
  5. 5. NIN Requirement: Each enrolee must provide their NIN.
  6. 6. Choice Rights: Enrolees have the right to choose their HMO and HCP.

  1. 1. Application to NHIA: The group submits an application to NHIA expressing interest in joining GIFSHIP.
  2. 2. Document Submission: Provide a document indicating the group’s name and list of persons to be enroled (covering ten persons or more).
  3. 3. Payment: Make the required payment into a designated account through the REMITA platform.
  4. 4. Payment Confirmation: Submit evidence of payment to NHIA for confirmation.
  5. 5. Registration Procedure: Go through the procedure of New Registration.
  6. 6. NIN Requirement: Each enrolee must provide their NIN.
  7. 7. HMO Choice: The group has the right to choose their HMO.
  8. 8. HCP Choice: Individuals in the group have the right to choose their HCP.
