What are the advantages of NHIA programmes?

Beneficiaries don't need cash for treatment (except for a 10% co-payment for drugs). NHIA's comprehensive benefit package avoids the need to convert assets into cash during illnesses.

Do NHIA programmes cover just civil/public servants?

No, NHIA caters to all Nigerians and legal residents of the country. Particularly, the Group Individual and Family Social Health Insurance Programme (GIFSHIP) is designed by NHIA to cover every other Nigerian who is not a civil/public servant.
