REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ORGANIZED PRIVATE SECTOR

Here’s what you need to know to sign up for the Organized Private Sector Social Health Insurance Programme (OPSSHIP)

  1. 1. Letter of Interest: Your organization needs to write a letter expressing interest in enroling into OPSSHIP.

  1. 2. Organization Details: Provide your organization’s current Nominal Roll and three (3) months’ verifiable salary schedule stamped by the bank.

  1. 3. Minimum Basic Salary: Your organization must meet the required minimum basic salary of Thirty Thousand (30,000) naira only for participation in OPSSHIP.

  1. 4. Payment to NHIA Fund Account: Make payment to the NHIA Fund Account via the REMITA platform and provide evidence of payment. This includes a minimum of twelve (12) months initial contribution as computed by NHIA.

  1. 5. NHIA Enrolment Visit: NHIA will visit your organization and enrol employees.

  1. 6. National Identification Number (NIN): Each enrolee must provide their NIN.

  1. 7. Choice Rights:

   – Enrolees can choose their Healthcare Provider (HCP).

   – Employers can choose the Health Maintenance Organization (HMO).

  1. 8. Processing Time: Expect a maximum waiting period of 3 months before access to care.

  1. 9. NHIA ID Card Payment: Enrolees need to pay One Thousand Five Hundred (1,500) naira only for the NHIA ID card, excluding bank charges.

  1. 10. Subscription Renewal: Renew the subscription three (3) months before expiration to avoid waiting periods and maintain coverage continuity.
