OPSSHIP provides health insurance coverage for private sector workers and their families. Although it is similar to the Private Health Plans, OPSSHIP is administered by the NHIA and not Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs)
Who can join?
Any private company with five or more employees
What it covers
OPSSHIP covers the employees, their spouses, and up to four children under the age of 18. Employees can add more family members at an extra cost
How it works
Registering is simple. You and your employer (if you have one) will contribute an amount based on what you earn. This money creates a fund to pay for health care when you need it.
How to join
Your employer needs to send in an application to the NHIA. Once the application is approved, NHIA will co-ordinate with your employer to enrol all employees
