Mr. Olalekan Olabode is the Director of the Information and Communication Technology Department of the National Health Insurance Authority, where he is responsible for the planning, directing, and leading the development, operations and maintenance of the ICT resources and infrastructure of the Authority. Before his elevation to the rank of Director, he was at one time or the other, the head of different divisions in the ICT Department. In the years 2016 and 2017, he was the Ogun State Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). Mr. Olalekan holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos. He is a Certified Prince 2 (foundation and practitioner) Project manager. He has over 30 years of relevant and cognate experience in the profession of information and Communication technology which cut across both private and public sectors of the economy. Lekan began his career with the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB), Lagos as a Programmer in 1990. In 1993, he joined Globe Reinsurance PLC as a Programmer/System Analyst, where he became Group Head/Assistant General Manager, ICT in 2006. He had a brief stint at Law Union and Rock PLC in the year 2010 before joining Elizade University in 2011 as the Director of ICT. Mr. Olalekan Olabode has attended various national and international conferences, and workshops on the implementation of policies to strengthen the Health sector, deployment of ICT technologies to improve citizen services, improve Healthcare delivery, manage resources more effectively, strengthen national security and build intelligent systems. He is a fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and a member Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN). Lekan is happily married with two children.
